That’s not mentioning Apple’s use of less-premium materials and a streamlined manufacturing process for the cheaper model, which should knock more than a fair few bucks off the price. That would probably mean fewer cameras and a chipset that’s not quite as powerful as the M2 in the current Vision Pro. Gurman says that the company is “currently planning a release of the cheaper model for as early as the end of 2025,” and will reportedly feature several downgrades to make the headset’s price more easily digestible. If that is the case, though, it won’t be coming any time soon. Though according to the Apple leaker, Mark Gurman (via Bloomberg), the company is “already working on a cheaper model to get the new product category onto the faces of more people.” Whether it’ll actually manage to sell, only time will tell.

There’s just one problem it’ll cost around R70,000, confining itself to the wealthy and more privileged few.

But we can guess, and it’s not looking good for the moochers out there.Īpple’s got a new piece of AR tech on the way, bringing with it a million sensors, cameras, a dedicated R1 chipset, and more glass than an episode of Breaking Bad. We can’t be sure what that’ll mean for South Africa and the few countries still awaiting Netflix’s password crackdown. Across 26 and 27 May, the streamer saw at least 200,000 new sign-ups, surpassing the daily-sign up rate of even those days in early lockdown in 2020. It might not land on our best Xbox controllers list, purely because the Xbox Wireless Controller is already there, but it's definitely one to keep an eye on if you're a fan of extra snazzy hardware. This isn’t some small surge in new users, either. Though, they'll most likely launch either the same day as the game (September 6), or in the immediate weeks prior. Lastly, there's no release window attached to any of the Starfield hardware at present. The buttons, sticks and triggers are all labeled like they were modules on a spaceship, and that's kind of neat. Now, though, seeing the controller in a higher quality trailer, I'm starting to be won over by the overall design. Initially, looking at those original Reddit screenshots, I wasn't a huge fan of the flowchart-like text scrawled across the gamepad. That golden D-pad is a real eye-catcher, too. The stylized colors wrapping around the home button are a lovely touch. I'm a big fan of the red-on-white aesthetic for the gamepad's shell. The Starfield limited edition Xbox Wireless Controller certainly looks the part. But going off prior limited edition Xbox wireless controllers, like the one for Forza Horizon 5, it's easy to see the gamepad pricing at around $89.99 / £79.99. No price point has been announced for either the controller or the headset as of yet.
